Feeling Stressed?

Five Simple Ways to Handle  Daily Stress -Tunisian Style

Feeling like everything’s piling up fast? Here’s your quick guide to keeping it together.

1. Tea Time

Start with mint tea and a moment of quiet. Find your spot – maybe your rooftop  – and let your mind settle like the leaves in your glass. Sometimes that’s all you need to see things clearly.

2. Brain Reset

Give your brain a rest, turn off your phone for half-an hour or more. Take a break from social media.

3. Brik Break

Remember how brik is made? One careful fold at a time. Handle your tasks the same way. Don’t try to solve everything at once. Pick one thing and start there.

4. Coffee Chat

Tunisians know the power of community. Share what’s on your mind over coffee with your family or friends.

5. Coastal Walk

Take a break by the Mediterranean. Tunisia’s beautiful coast has a way of putting things in perspective.

And if these don’t work,  sometimes all you need is good food and loud relatives to make everything feel lighter!  Cooking a meal together is even better.

Comfort Foods for Calm

When stress hits, reach for our mood-lifting local favorites. A warm bowl of lablabi can feel like a hug from the inside. Grab some kaak from your corner shop – the sesame seeds are actually great for reducing anxiety. For a quick boost, dates and almonds are your best friends. And never underestimate the power of your grandmother’s zrir recipe – those ground nuts and honey aren’t just delicious, they’re natural stress-fighters!
